The MRTU contains both In-viro-Drum™ vacuum recovery and water treatment technology in a single unit. This allows the MRTU to process fluids on site.  First, any remaining small particulate material such as silt are removed.  Hydrocarbon contamination is eliminated by passing the fluid through Oil Water Treatment Technology (OWTT) infused cartridge filters.  A real time oil/water analyzer monitors the discharge fluid and suspends the operation if contamination is detected. Media replacement is then required.

An important feature of the MRTU is that it allows recovered water to be used for wash down of sites where large amounts of sludges or silts may be present.
